Light a Candle
MaryAnn Stead was born March 16, 1936 in Aberdeen WA to parents John and Kathryn Stead. She was raised in Seattle and attended Holy Angels and Franklin High Schools.
She had 3 sisters, Nancy Carpenter, Georgia Jacobson and Joanie Starosky and 1 brother Richard Stead. Many nieces and nephews ,great nieces and great nephews and even one great great nephew and one great great niece.
She married Phil Kelley on January 10, 1958. They had 2 children , Stephanie Kelley Haney and John Kelley. Though MaryAnn and Phil didn't stay married, they remained best friends, even living across the street from each other for years.
MaryAnn Lived on Queen Anne Hill and also later in Ballard.
She was blessed with 4 wonderful grandchildren who were the light of her life. Evan 23, Ryan 20, Johnnie 17 and Joey 9.
She worked for the Ballard YMCA for a few years but her true calling was her years she spent sending kids to camp when she worked for the Campfire Girls and Boys. She loved her job and made many true friendships through her years there,
After she retired she moved to Edmonds with her beloved cat Pyewacket.
MaryAnn loved having fun, whether it was nights out dancing, the Fremont parade and street fair, family Halloween parties ,St. Patricks day at Murphys Pub, babysitting one of her boys, or just enjoying a glass of wine with a good book.
She always made us laugh and feel loved. We will miss her
